EIB - Implementation Support to the PIU under the Ukraine Railway Modernisation Project

Description

The Technical Assistance (TA) will contribute to the overall objective of the underlying investment project (Ukraine Railway Modernisation – the ‘Project’), namely to improve the capacity of the existing rail lines through electrification and construction of new tracks, thereby to improve the quality of rail services and allow rail to maintain or expand its modal share. The purpose of the TA is to:(i) support Ukrainian Railway (Ukrzaliznytsia or UZ) (the ‘Promoter’) during implementation of major infrastructure works along the rail corridor; and (ii) monitor and report on compliance of the Ukraine Railway Modernisation Project to financiers’ (EIB and EBRD) requirements, including the ‘Safeguard Provisions’.
