Description
1. The purpose of this procurement is to purchase furniture to support the opening of CICC on 1st September 2026. 2. A thorough condition assessment of the existing furniture in the current healthcare facilities was conducted by the Facilities Officer, who concluded that most items have exceeded their serviceable life. The furniture is no longer fit for purpose, cannot be safely dismantled or moved to the new facility, and presents potential health and safety hazards due to structural deterioration resulting in failure to meet current standards. 3. Furthermore, the new healthcare facility will offer increased capacity, including additional clinical areas, office spaces, staff rest rooms, meeting rooms, and a larger waiting area for Medical, Dental, and Department of Community Mental Health (DCMH) patients. This expansion results in a significant shortfall of appropriate furnishings and fittings, requiring the purchase of new DAS-compliant items to ensure full operational readiness for the planned move-in date of 1st September 2026. 4. The CICC is a joint MOD/NHS facility incorporating patient wayfinding, divided into four colour-coded zones. During the design phase, it was agreed that the waiting area furniture would correspond with these wayfinding colours. Tilbury Douglas (CICC Delivery Partner) will install custom-built furniture in these zones as part of the Group 1 items. The remaining waiting area furniture is classified as Group 3 items, which the Authority shall procure and to which this requirement pertains. 5. The Authority requires Group 3 Waiting Area furniture. This is broken down into both CORE and NON-CORE items. 6. All Group 3 Waiting Area furniture items must be wipeable, vinyl covered and meet Infection Prevention Control standards in accordance with Para 5.36.1.2 - NHS - Infection Control, of RM6308 Framework Schedule 1 - Specification. 7. The Authority requires the Contractor to deliver and instal all Group 3 Waiting Area furniture in the designated areas per the Scoping Plan by 1st September 2026 at the latest. 8. The Authority requires office furniture. This is broken down into both CORE and NON-CORE items. 9. Office furniture items that are listed as wipeable must be vinyl covered and meet Infection Prevention Control standards in accordance with Para 5.36.1.2 - NHS - Infection Control, of RM6308 Framework Schedule 1 - Specification. 10. The Authority requires the Contractor to deliver and instal all office furniture in the designated areas per the Scoping Plan by 8th September 2026 at the latest. 11. The Contractor shall remove and dispose of all packaging in accordance with good industry practice. 12. Please include any training or skills transfer requirements to be delivered by the Supplier.
