Greening Eden Businesses

Eden District Council is seeking bids from suitably qualified and experienced consultants to assist the Council in delivering the Greening Eden Businesses project. The Greening Eden Businesses Project can be usefully broken down in to two connected elements; environmental audits of the carbon footprint of individual businesses and the development and management of a capital grant programme to reduce the carbon footprint of these businesses. The role of the specialist provider would fall in to two main areas. A) The specialist advisor would work with Eden businesses and be expected to undertake a diagnostic of their business practice and physical assets and a costed action plan of recommended interventions. B) The specialist advisor would oversee a capital grant scheme which will be targeted at interventions with high carbon reduction outputs that require gap funding to decrease payback periods to manageable levels. The specialist advisor would horizon scan for external funding opportunities to supplement the project for businesses and to bring to the attention of the Council to promote.
