Description

The 2D image detectors AGIPD, LPD and soon DSSC are a key element in many scientific experiments at the European XFEL. Current implementations (e.g. GPU based processing) allow to online calibrate a part of the generated images online already. However, there are some limitations, which are also limiting the possibilities of the underling experiment. This project has the goal to develop a new FPGA based processing platform and firmware, which is able to overcome the limitations. The project will include the following general aspects: — FPGA based high-end hardware platform to be used for the development in the laboratory and testing in the instrument, — all required development tools and (incl. 3rd party) licenses, — development, verification and documentation done by the supplier/service provider.
