School catering services

Description

The successful Supplier/s will be required to provide catering services for Bridgwater College Academy and West Somerset College. The contract covers the scope for the provision of all catering services within the schools, which also includes free issue requirements. In addition to this both schools provide send-out meals to a number of Primary schools. The contract will commence on 1.9.2017 for a period of 3 years, with a possible extension of 2 years by mutual consent and on the same terms and conditions as the original contract. Suppliers will have the option to submit bids for both schools, but each school will have the option to decide who they will appoint. There are 3 schools within the Bridgwater College Academy estate, all of which are currently contracted out: — Polden Campus (Secondary); — Sedgemoor Campus (Infants); — Quantock Campus (Juniors). The current turnover figures for the above schools including the send-outs and Free School Meals are approximately 340 000 GBP per year. The catering service at West Somerset College is currently in-house and also provides one Primary school with meals, which the Primary school collects from West Somerset College. The turnover for the school only, excluding the send-out meals to the Primary school, is approximately 135 000 GBP per year.
