Description

The Multi-Disciplinary Laboratory Medicine and Medical Biochemistry Department, TLMB, Akershus University Hospital, signed a contract with Roche in 2020 for an automation system. The system includes instruments and an automation belt, as well as connections to the pneumatic dispatch system at the hospital in order to establish seamless delivery of tubes/containers with biological material, serum, urine, spinal fluid, etc., to the automation system. Specially made patrons with liners are emptied directly into a bulk loader that puts the sample tubes directly on to the automation system. TLMB would also like a robotic system for unpacking patrons that include other types of tubes/containers that do not fit into the specially made patrons. A voluntary ex-ante transparency notice is being used as the contracting authority has not found other relevant suppliers that can deliver a robotic system for unpacking patrons suitable for this purpose. TLMB currently has a large industry robot that unpacks patrons. This is nearing the end of its lifetime, and the department would like a smaller robot that can be adapted to Roche's automation system and Aerocom's pneumatic dispatch system.
