Natural Resources Wales (NRW) is advertising Y Bryn Project onshore renewable energy development opportunity in the Penhydd and Bryn forest blocks on the Neath Port Talbot / Bridgend border in south Wales within Strategic Search Area (SSA) F. This Request for Proposals (RfP) relates to an opportunity for the acquisition of a lease at Penhydd and Bryn forest blocks, which are owned by the Welsh Ministers and occupied by NRW. Constraints exist in relation to the development of the land, but the land has been identified as potentially suitable for a wind farm and has been recognised as likely to generate interest from Developers / Operators in the renewable energy sector. This RfP does not prescribe how the site should be developed. It has been produced and designed to make Developers aware of the opportunities and constraints and to encourage Developers / Operators to make proposals in support of a grant of a lease which generates best value for money for NRW and the Welsh Government. This will take into account amongst other things the levels of the financial payments being offered by Developers / Operators and the conditions and circumstances on which such payments depend.
