Lot 1: The Norwegian Environment Agency will establish a dynamic purchasing system (DPS) for future procurements of mapping services in forests in accordance with the Nature in Norway system (NiN). The mapping services comprise mapping the ecosystem in forest conservation work, including: • Areas offered for voluntary conservation. • Areas on publicly owned ground. • Forest types (e.g. humid forests) prioritised for mapping. In areas offered for voluntary conservation and areas on publicly owned ground, the mapping will, together with other existing data, ensure a knowledge basis of the ecosystem for an assessment of conservation of individual areas. The aim of mapping specific types of forests is that these registrations, together with previous registrations, will give a representative picture of the ecosystem values for the specific type of forest. The registrations will improve the basis for managing the biological diversity in the forest type, including forming a basis for offers of voluntary forest conservation. The assignment within the scheme consists of mapping in areas within a given geographical demarcation in Norway, as well as species registrations within the same areas. Policy assessments are not included in the assignment. The data must be collected in accordance with the separate instructions. The instructions describe the mapping of forests in accordance with NIN, as it is to be carried out in forest conservation work. The instructions will be updated if necessary. The instructions supplement the current versions of the Species Databank's guidelines for mapping ecosystem variations in accordance with NiN. The Norwegian Environment Agency's system for processing NiN data must be used in the work. For the mapping, this involves using the mapping application on an iPad, and software on a PC (SkogWeb). As a starting point, the Norwegian Environment Agency's application for registering species (ArtsApp) must be used for registering species data. In addition, the species findings must be reported to the Species Database.
