Description

Yorkshire Water Services Ltd YWS are seeking partners to operate on a framework for the provision of Telemetry Real-Time Services. These services will fundamentally bridge the gap between IT and operational technology and will provide reliable data connections and translate data into information for the wider business. Data sources include, but are not limited to the regional telemetry system, SCADA, energy consumption, sludge transport, rainfall and data from 3rdparty loggers. This framework will not cover the installation of new infrastructure. Data will be delivered for consumption in the form of raw data e.g. PI Data Link or on visualised displays/dashboards (e.g.PI-Vision). This will be in line with current strategy to provide situational awareness on a single pane of glass for the control room. The framework will support the reduction of alarm noise and increase intelligent alarms. This framework is intended for a duration of 4 years and an extension of up to a further 2 years. Yorkshire Water Services (YWS) intends to implement a framework involving a small number of partners that will provide support for a series of small and larger scale projects to react to the addition of telemetry data sources, deliver data as information on a series of dashboards and provide interconnections between top end systems. The framework does not include the installation of new devices or equipment. Projects may include but not be limited to: — visualisation of current data with the use of YWS business logic to illustrate any potential alerts in a timely manner. Data modelling would also be used to take a more predictive/proactive approach, — smaller projects relating to the control room should be delivered in a standard to allow the growth into a layered situational awareness dashboard (single pane of glass), — interfaces between systems. Bespoke and nonstandard interfaces are (and will be) developed to meet the needs of the business. Data is acquired from assets such as water treatment works, waste water treatment works, pumping stations, level monitoring loggers, flow and pressure loggers, sludge tanker operations, energy consumption/generation and all this must be structured and interfaced to operational databases for business use, — intelligent alarms to reduce alarm noise. Flows and levels are affected by external conditions such as weather and the business does not need to be overloaded with alerts and alarms where a genuine alarm could be missed. Projects will be commenced to allow data to be fed from existing systems into external analytics where data can be mixed, and only genuine alerts/alarms fed back in. For example, comparing level data from one systems and weather data from another source, — profile alarms — flat line alarms thresholds do not give the business time to react in certain situations. A great deal of YWS supply and treatment does follow a diurnal pattern and projects will be implemented to deliver profile alarm/alerts based on predicted patterns, — legacy system support and replacement. Some legacy systems do need support, reinvigoration and/or replacement. Some data from legacy systems is regulatory and systems will require support as they reach end of life. Projects will be started to review current architecture, business requirements and assist in the delivery of replacement or updated systems. Example projects: — bespoke OSI PI-SAP S4/HANA interface, — visible networks (profile alarms on clean network), — situational awareness (waste), — intelligent alarms (reduce alarm noise, inc trial of analytics engine), — process safety performance indicators (PSPI) dashboard, — energy and recycling dashboard, — metaldehyde alerts (using turbidity as a surrogate to predict farm pesticide run off), — sample manager refresh (discovery phase), — regulatory operational database refresh (discovery phase). Projects requiring input include but are now limited to: — internal sewer flooding (using data from addition of small form factor loggers), — upper quartile performance target waste monitors (using data from addition of additional waste loggers), — upper quartile performance target acoustic loggers (using data from addition of additional clean loggers), — netbase 6.26 upgrade, — pollution-predictor refresh.
