TR4553 The operation of ESB’s Salmon Hatchery at Ballyshannon Co Donegal, Parteen, Co Tipperary and Carrigadrohid Co Cork and for any additional activities relating to ESB Sustainable Rivers Strategy

It is proposed that the Framework Agreement will include (non-exhaustive list – high level scope): • Fish Feeding • Fish Stripping • Egg/Alevin Picking • Fin clipping/Tagging • Egg Shocking • Pre-smolt planting • Un Fed Fry Planting • Smolt Release • Tank washing/painting • Fish Grading • Fish Pass Cleaning • Fish Trapping • Brood Sorting • Fish releases • Data Management: • Plant Maintenance • Maintenance of Buildings and Grounds. • Visitor Centre • General Management of the Hatchery (Utility Bills, Vermin Control etc) • Fish Health Surveillance (including fortnightly Fish Veterinary Service in April/May and at any other occasion required • Main Intake screens cleaning • Environmental and Safety Documentation input and achieving ISO Certification • Meet Fish Targets (numbers and density) • Comply with Biology Requirements • Assist with ESB’s Eel Trap and Transport Initiative • Assist with ESB’s Elver Monitoring and Transportation Protocols • Assist with Project Management of River Sustainability Contractors • Assist with Electro-Fishing of local rivers upon request by ESB Fisheries Conservation • Assist with ESB’s Salmon Genetics Sampling Requirements • Assist with ESB’s Sustainable Rivers Strategy upon request by ESB • Any other Services as required by ESB to assist in the operation of it’s Fisheries and Sustainable Rivers Strategy as they arise.
