GSA Communications Data Acquisition Solution in AWS Cloud (CycComms)

Description

Much of the intelligence development work, criminal investigations and prosecutions undertaken by Police forces and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA) include a requirement to access Communications Data. Communications Data is key to progressing core business and includes data held by communication service providers and internet service providers. The acquisition and disclosure of this data is regulated by legislation and associated codes of practice. The Investigatory Powers Act 2016 is the primary legislation under which this activity is conducted and prescribes the process of justifying application for the data, the levels and method of authorisation, defining the legal process involved and documentation used. GSA re-developed CycComms from the ground up to provide the ability to host CycComms “in the cloud”. The solution is now a fully responsive application allowing access to be granted via a HTML5 browser.
