The successful supplier will be required to provide catering services for London Design and Engineering UTC. Lot 1: The successful supplier will be required to provide catering services for London Design and Engineering UTC. London Design and Engineering UTC in Newham, London was opened in 2016 as a brand new, state of the art University Technical College. The College is a state funded Academy College and services learners from year 9 to year 13, as well as a small cohort of apprentice learners. In January 2019 the College moved into its brand new purpose built permanent building on the Dock side of London’s Royal Albert Dock. The tender project is seeking to appoint a supplier whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of service within the existing facilities for the 637 learners on roll and 73 (FTE) teaching and support staff (growing to 750 learners within 3 years), with a focus on exciting new food concepts to satisfy a wide range of learner tastes and dietary requirements. The client would wish the successful supplier to review the current range of services offered and make recommendations accordingly. The contract being tendered is for 3 years in duration from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2024 with the option to extend for a maximum of a further 2 years at the discretion of the client. This contract will operate as a guaranteed performance contract, with the successful supplier offering the client a guaranteed return cost per annum for the provision of catering services. Sovereignty of the cash tariff is to remain with London Design and Engineering UTC for the duration of this contract. The College year is based on a calendar of 195 days. Between five and 10 days are to be used for staff professional development and non-learner days which means that College will be open to receive learners for between 180 and 185 days per year. The contract offered covers the scope for the provision of all catering services within the College, which currently includes morning break, lunch, all hospitality and free issue requirements. Free College meals are to be charged based on consumption with a margin attached and hospitality will be charged based on consumption and at net food cost. Whilst the client prioritises value for money as a key objective of the competitive tender process, the Governing body is not obliged to accept the lowest price. The value of the current contract: Total sales for the first term Sept-Dec 2019 were GBP 34 506. Total annual value of the contract is therefore GBP 100 000 and the total value of the contract over the complete 5-year term is GBP 500 000. London Design and Engineering UTC expects the successful supplier to enable the continued development of catering through the provision of an innovative, healthy food service, with fresh, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients being prepared on-site.
