Description
Contract Award- Mini-tender for the supply of VMware Servers under Lot 1 of CCS Technology Products Framework RM1054. Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is looking to replace its Virtual Server hardware. The council currently has a maintenance contract on its Virtual server hardware which expires 17th February 2016. The new hardware should be on site by the 17th February 2016 at the latest. The five year maintenance contract should also start from this date. 1. Hardware requirements: Six (6) servers each meeting the following minimum specification: a) Dual sockets. b) 512gb DDR4 RAM. c) 2 x Intel Xeon Processors, minimum 2.60GHz clock speed, 14 core and 35mb cache. E5-2697 v3 preferred. d) 12 x 10GB copper Gbe Intel network connections for iSCSI, Networking and vMotion per server. e) 4 x 300GB Solid State Drives (SSDs) local hard drives per server with raid controller capable of Raid 0,1,5,6,10 and 50. f) Must have rack mount kit and bezels. g) Must be fully compatible and fully supported with HP 5900AF-48XGT-4QSFP+ Switches (JG336A) and HP 10500 core switches via 10gb copper. Any different connections must be detailed in the tender response and confirmed as fully supported by the switch and server vendor. h) Dual redundant SD cards for VMWare ESXi operating system in Raid 1. i) Redundant hardware (power supplies, controllers, etc). j) Support full segregation of iSCSI network. k) Support load balancing/Multi-Pathing of iSCSI network. 2. Maintenance contract requirements: a) Five (5) years maintenance/support services. b) 24/7 support with the ability to have parts and/or engineer on site within 4 hours of a support call being placed; c) Maintenance contract to be direct with the vendor, not via a third party (Note: this is a mandatory requirement which will be scored on a Pass/Fail basis). d) Onboard reporting capability (e.g. number of intrusions to chassis, number of hardware failures). e) The solution must provide licensed remote web based administration (e.g. ILO/DRAC). This must be licensed for 5 years. f) Real time and historic performance monitoring with detailed logging and the ability to export logs. g) Ability to monitor the solution via centralised enterprise management systems, e.g. via Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
