Acquisition of a field robot

Description

The department of PWF requires the purchasing of an automated field robot to conduct their research. Lot 1: The field robot “Robotti” from the Danish ag-tech company Agrointelli will become a novel autonomous implement carrier at the researh farms at Plant Facilities and Workshops (PFW) under the University of Copenhagen. The robot is intended to support and optimize both standard field operations, advanced proximal sensing and imaging as well as enabling research on how modern technology can pave the way for (re)introducing new cropping systems such as strip-cropping and pixelfarming. This should support research in new ways of producing plant-based food products. Also the robot is crucial in both teaching and to bridge research in future farming technology with research in future food production in a broad perspective. Robotti will feed in to the strategy from the Department of Plant and Environmental Science (PLEN) of creating a living lab situated at the Taastrup campus.
