Café Concession

Description

The National Library of Scotland seeks to appoint an experienced café Concessionaire with proven experience running a successful café. The café is located at the Library's main Edinburgh premises on George IV Bridge. The building visitor numbers are around 350,000 per year, and the potential annual café turnover is in the region of 300,000 GBP inclusive of VAT. The café is situated in the main public entrance of the building and forms an integral part of the visitor centre. Lot 1: As this is a concession contract with an anticipated turn-over of 2.7 million GBP over the full contact period, the contract is not regulated. The procurement was run as an open procurement, advertised on the PCS portal. In addition, due to repeated experience of low interest rates in this type of contract in the past, the Library invited local businesses to tender directly via email. Those businesses who expressed an interest in receiving the ITT pack, were offered to submit their tenders via email, i.e. outside of the PCS portal. Throughout the tender stage, all responses to questions received via the PCS portal and directly via email were shared on the PCS portal and via email to those businesses who received the ITT pack. The procurement included an optional visit to the Library's cafe premises to help inform bidders' tender response; and a mandatory visit by the Library's tender evaluation panel to the bidder's premises.. The estimated total contract value of 2,700,000 GBP (inclusive of VAT) is based on an expected annual turnover by the Concessionaire of 300,000 GBP inclusive of VAT.
