Description

North of England Commissioning Support (NECS) worked for and on behalf of NHS South Tyneside Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to commission a Community Based Anticoagulation Stabilisation, Monitoring and Dosing Service for Non-Complex Patients. There is an expectation the provider will work with the existing provider of complex service to provide a seamless service for patients. The CCG has secured one provider to deliver the service in community-based locations within South Tyneside. The revised service model will introduce an element of self-monitoring for appropriate patients, as well as increasing the emphasis on provisions of domiciliary care. The contract will commence on 1 April 2018 for a term of 2 years with an option to extend for 1 year. The tender documentation was available from 12:00 noon on 8 September 2017 until the tender deadline of 12:00 noon on 27 October 2017. The contract is offered on a tariff base. Under the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 the contracting authority must consider: How what is proposed to be procured might improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of residents and how, in conducting the procurement, it might act with a view to securing the improvement. This will be tested via tender responses. NECS used an eTendering portal to manage this procurement.
