Description

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board who sought to provide Orthodontics Services for their patient population in four areas within their boundaries. Specifically, the provider will be expected: — to assess and treat patients up to the age of 18 who meet the criteria set out in the contract and who have an IOTN score of 3,6 to 5, — to promote and protect health by, for example, reducing smoking and promoting oral health messages (i.e. brushing teeth). Where applicable the Provider should assist patients to improve their oral health in order to commence orthodontic treatment, — to provide support to general dental practitioners on appropriate referrals to help further reduce waste in the system. The Health Board required Orthodontic services from the Vale of Glamorgan Local Authority area; this excludes core mandatory services, sedation services, domiciliary services and minor oral surgery. The Health Board required Orthodontic services from the Cardiff Local Authority area — Western Zone (covering the Local Authority Wards of: Creigau and St Fagans, Pentyrch, Radyr, Fairwater, Ely, Caerau, Llandaff, Canton, Riverside and Grangetown). Please note that this excludes core mandatory services, sedation services, domiciliary services and minor oral surgery. The Health Board required Orthodontic services from the Cardiff Local Authority area — Central Zone (covering the Local Authority Wards of: Whitchurch and Tongwynlais, Rhiwbina, Llanishen, Lisvane, Llandaff North, Heath, Gabalfa, Cathays and Butetown). Please note that this excludes core mandatory services, sedation services, domiciliary services and minor oral surgery. The Health Board required Orthodontic services from the Cardiff Local Authority area — Eastern Zone (covering the Local Authority Wards of: Pontprennau and Old St Mellons, Cyncoed, Pentwyn, Llanrumney, Rumney, Trowbridge, Plasnewydd, Penylan, Adamsdown and Splott). Please note that this excludes core mandatory services, sedation services, domiciliary services and minor oral surgery.
