Building Alterations for Coating Plant Facility including moving of coating plant equipment

Description

The Centre of Photonics expertise has a requirement for modification and adaptation of the existing laboratory area as shown in Appendix A of Annex 1 to to receive and accommodate the procured high vacuum thin film coating plant and its ancillary equipment. The works also include installation of new or repositioning of existing partition walls to create new lab spaces for the supporting activities. The building work will include the temporary removal of partition walls, suspended ceiling and doors to allow the transport and positioning of the plant, followed by re-installation of walls, suspended ceiling and doors and new partitions once the plant has been installed. The contractor is also required to Deliver relevant modifications to and/or installation of mains power points, water pipes, ventilation systems and other utilities needed to service the machine and surrounding laboratory area, take responsibility for the receiving and unloading of the coating plant weighing circa 7 tonnes (when fully assembled) from the designated shippers and to transport to the designated area and final position. As part of the technical proposal, the bidder is required to develop a full design and build solution against Statement of Work to include all the installation, standards, material specifications and their compatibility with existing installations and the requirements specified by the coating plant.
