Solar Car Ports – Supply and Installation at Marwell Zoo

The University of Southampton is seeking to appoint an experienced contractor to complete the detailed design, manufacture or source, deliver, install and commission an approximately 160 kWp solar car port system within the overflow car park at Marwell Zoo (owned by Marwell Wildlife), Owslebury, Winchester, as part of a research project. The contract shall be between the University of Southampton and the successful Contractor, with Marwell Zoo acting as the host site.<br /><br />The solution must include covered parking space for nine vehicles and five dual 7 kW electric vehicle charge points beneath the first canopy and must use gravity-fixed foundations, such as concrete ballast, rather than permanent foundations.<br /><br />The requirement also includes the supply and installation of photovoltaic panels, associated DC cabling to a designated 40ft container, under-canopy lighting, guttering and rainwater drainage, together with all structural, electrical and supporting design documentation necessary to demonstrate compliance with the Specification. <br /><br />The successful contractor will be responsible for coordinating its activities with the wider site project team and any appointed CDM Principal Contractor throughout the design, delivery and installation phases.<br />
