Description

The project comprises the vertical expansion of an existing 24-bed ward (Block G) building, which was constructed under emergency legislation during the COVID-19 pandemic and is located on the University Hospital Limerick campus, which is an acute hospital. The vertical expansion will provide 72 additional beds across three new ward levels, together with staff and ancillary accommodation, plant room at the fourth floor and part of the fifth floor, and additional vertical circulation, including 2 new stair cores and lifts with an overall floor area of circa 6,617 m2 inclusive of the plantroom area and all ancillary site development above and below ground. The works will take place within an operational campus adjacent to live 24/7 clinical departments.
