Description

getUBetter's digital service is a self-management platform available across primary, secondary and community care in BNSSG, supporting patients with all common MSK injuries and conditions. Patients can be and are directed to the app at many points during their MSK management pathway e.g. when seen in primary care, attending MSKi service, whilst on waiting list to attend MSK physiotherapy (links provided in waiting well letters) and during/post physiotherapy intervention. getUBetter is co-designed with patients, clinicians, commissioners and research partners. They maintain a cycle of design, test, assess, modify and improve to make sure that content and flow is intuitive and helps people to self-manage their recovery and general health. getUBetter is a class 1 medical device and DTAC certified. It complies with NHS Clinical safety and information governance standards. The getUBetter content is based to the latest evidence and behaviour change techniques, and self-management pathways are signed off and approved by clinical teams. The platform is locally configured to an ICB MSK pathway and is regularly updated. The App is designed to be given as part of routine care and has multiple layers of risk management. It provides safe self-management but will advise patients to seek help if needed. getUBetter provides personalised support that is responsive to how a patient is feeling and targeted to their recovery journey and lived experience. It enables patients to choose the right pathway for themselves and provide them with choice on how to self-manage their condition in relation to their local circumstances and environment. getUBetter has been approved for funding for 2 years. Lot 1: NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICB are using this notice as an intention to award notice. Direct Award C has been used for the award of this contract. The existing provider is satisfying the original contract and will likely satisfy the proposed new contract. The lifetime value of the 2 year contract is £206,682. There is no change to service provision within the new contract. This procurement has been carried out by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW) on behalf of the Commissioners. NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Gloucestershire ICB are currently working together in a formal "clustering" arrangement to prepare for their merger into a single, new organisation (name to be confirmed), effective from 1st April 2027.
