QED Naval is seeking the Supply and delivery of 3 off Tidal Turbines to their Subhub tidal platform utilising their Cross Beam support structure. These will be delivered to a a tidal test site within UK mainland waters Channel region, unless specified otherwise. Prerequisites for suppliers: - Provide purchase options: a) The outright purchase; b) Contract Hire; c) Lease to buy; a monthly lease cost for all three turbines which includes a service contract to assist QED Naval during the integration phase and through its project life of circa 36 months operation within the Tiger project which is due to be completed by 31 March 2023 . Each turbine should have a power rating of 50 kW to 150 kW and a an option of two different diameters of 3.5 to 5.5 m; i) 2 off larger diameter 5.0m to 5.5m and; ii) 1 off smaller diameter 3.5m to 4.0m. Specification: No Item Description Specification 1 Power output 50 to 150 kW 2 Turbine rotor diameter 3.5 to 5.5 m; 2 off larger diameter and 1 off smaller 3 Rotor directionality Bi directional with pitch controlled of reversible blades 4 Rated flow speed 1.5 to 2.0 m/s 5 Max flow speed 4.0 to 5.0 m/s 6 Survival flow speed 6.0 to 8.0 m/s 7 Braking system Hydraulic disk braking and/or electrical braking system 8 Generator type Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) preferred 9 Drive system Direct drive preferred but not essential 10 Nacelle max dimensions Diameter - Max 1.0 m Length - Max 4.0 m Weight - Max 6.5 T Depth rating - 40.0 m 11 Electrical connection Dry mate preferred or wet mate will be considered if cost comparable 12 Electrical interconnects Suitable lengths of underwater cable with armouring and connectors as above typically 10 – 20m tail on each turbine 13 SCADA system Suitable sensor specification to monitor and control the turbines remotely using ethernet or fibre channel 14 Interface transition piece Suitable transition structure to support the turbine within the platform 15 Paint system Suitable for long term submersion in seawater <20 degrees, NORSOK or DNVGL spec 16 Anti-foul pain Suitable for long term submersion and bio-fouling, hard antifoul suitable for at least 2 years 17 System life 20 Years 18 Design maintenance periods 5 years (period does not relate to project duration)
