Provision of Extreme Network Switches Lot 1: The Council must maintain and provide secure, reliable and high-performance network connectivity across all Council offices and schools. This is achieved through an enterprise data network comprising switches, routers and wireless access points. The Council’s existing network infrastructure is architected around Extreme Networks technologies. This architecture includes established vendor-specific management systems, configuration standards and in-house technical expertise. Maintaining alignment with this environment is necessary to: -Ensure interoperability with existing core and edge infrastructure -Avoid disproportionate technical and operational risk -Maintain service continuity across critical public services Protect prior capital investment in network management platforms and staff training Ensure consistent security, monitoring and support arrangements The procurement therefore provides for the supply of compatible network equipment to replace end-of-life assets and to support new-build sites and expansion requirements. Maintaining architectural consistency avoids unnecessary duplication of systems, reduces transition costs, and mitigates risks associated with introducing alternative network platforms into a live operational environment.
