Description

This tender is for the Tarbert to Whitehouse Active Travel Path; linking the Tarbert Ferry Terminal (OS Grid NR871688) to the Kennacraig Ferry Terminal, Skipness Road End (B8001) and Whitehouse (OS Grid NR817613), and will build upon the concept design developed for the route (Connected Transport Planning, 2026). Argyll & Bute Council wish to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced design team to develop the Tarbert to Whitehouse Active Travel Path project from the current concept design through Developed (RIBA Stage 3) and Technical (RIBA Stage 4) Design, and to be Principal Designer during construction (RIBA Stage 5). The project will require the successful tenderer to complete a range of survey, design and in-depth engagement work, including in-depth community, stakeholder and landowner engagement, topographic and utilities surveys and equality and socio-economic impact assessment (EqSEIA) to ensure route(s) identified have strong community, neighbour and landowner support and that the design drawings for the route(s) are robust, deliverable and of a high quality. These will all be subject to engagement with the community, businesses, landowners, neighbouring landowners, Argyll and Bute Council, CALMAC/CMAL, HITRANS and Transport Scotland.
