School catering services

A collaboration of Berkshire Schools are currently out to tender for the provision of a catering service. The schools who are part of the collaboration are: Garth Hill College Hawkedon Primary School Ranelagh School. The tender is for provision of a school catering service for the above three schools all based in Berkshire. This includes the supply of breakfast, morning break services and hot school lunches on every school day of the year. Hospitality food services may also be required occasionally. In the case of Garth Hill College there is also a sixth form servery provision as well as Rise@GHC on a separate site near the main College. The appointment of successful tenderer will be made in order to ensure a new contract for catering is in place for the school from 1 August 2019. The contract is being offered for an initial period of 3 years with two possible extensions of 12 months each. Provision of a school catering service. In the case of Garth Hill College there is also a sixth form servery, satellite servery for the main restaurant as well as a separate kitchen and dining facility for Rise@GHC. This includes the supply of hot school lunches on every school day of the year. Hawkedon Primary School are also interested in the possibility of an after school service provision. The aim of the new catering service will be to improve the quality of meals offered, increase take up of school lunches by making them more attractive than a packed lunch option and to promote healthy eating.
