Contract being put in place for MPLC licences for Fife Council schools/education Lot 1: The MPLC licence supports the lawful use of audio-visual content in circumstances where viewing takes place outside normal private home use. Within schools, this is relevant where films, television programmes or other video content are shown in classrooms to support learning and supervised activity, or as part of after-school provision and wider school-based activities. From a procurement, governance and compliance perspective, an appropriate licensing position is necessary to ensure that such activity is managed lawfully, consistently and with clear corporate oversight. A central licence would reduce the risk of schools operating without appropriate permissions and would establish a controlled and auditable framework across the school estate.
