Description
Contract 7001 for the new hospital in Drammen concerns the establishment of a culvert with access ramp for a crossing with overpass for the Drammen line in connection with a new four-lane access road to the hospital. The road must be connected to a new roundabout in Strandveien, and the contract work shall be concluded in the existing terrain in front of the current administration buildings at the hospital side of the railway. The culvert and ramps shall be made of reinforced concrete sheet piles in the construction pit The concrete structure is directly established on i.e. footings. The construction pit must be dug in an approx. -2.6 contour line, and slightly deeper locally. The construction pit must be dug in an approx. -2.6 contour line, and slightly deeper locally. The affected railway filling comprises partly of EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) and Leca pellets Some of the works must be executed during summer 2021 while the Drammen line has a 6 weeks inactive period. The contractor must have 24/7 operations while the line is inactive and the resources that are required must be used in such a way that the traffic can be in operation as planned. Sheet piles with a maximum length of approx. 16 m shall be partially hammered while the line is inactive and partly prior to the period of inactivity. A large part of the culvert must be prefabricated and transported from the construction area to the line in a unit with a weight of 1400 tonnes. The contract includes removing and re-establishing of tracks, track loops, contact line systems, cables etc. I.e. all affected railway infrastructure. The contract also includes storm water pipes for the culvert, works related to lighting, damp proofing, frost protection, etc. Main quantities for the culvert: • excavation: Approx. 15 000 m3; • EPS (removal/re-establishment): 2 300 m3; • sheet piles: approx. 5 000 m2; • concrete: approx. 6 400 m3; • frost protection: approx. 5 500 m2; • damp proofing: 2 800 m3; • cables, alterations: ca. 3 300 m; • storm water pipes. Foot and cycle bridge: The construction of a new foot and cycle bridge over the culvert is planned as a lot to the contract. This bridge shall connect the main cycle road along Strandveien permanently together with a section from Fjordparken in Drammen and Brakerøya towards Lier. Until the bridge is ready, a temporary foot and cycle road shall be established in a section along the new roundabout in Strandveien. The bridge shall be established by a ramp with a filling in the terrain before the new concrete bridge on columns crosses the driveway culvert. The bridge is parallel to the railway and with a distance of approx. 15 m to the railway tracks. The bridge must be made of concrete cast-on-site over 7 spans with a guide width of 5.5 m and a total length of approx. 100 m. The bridge is planned to be founded partly on piles and partly on the ramp in Sykehusveien. Detailed documentation is not ready. The contracting authority plans to submit one addendum for the construction of the foot and cycle bridge over Sykehusveien in August. The contracting authority is planning the execution of the bridge simultaneously with the last phase of the construction of the road culvert or after the culvert is completed. In the technical description ‘C2.1 Veikulvert under jernbanen‘ (‘C2.1 Road culvert under the railway’), the contractor shall only give a price for the work for the road culvert. In the addendum for the foot and cycle bridge there will be separate posts for workmen's barracks and operation. The contracting authority shall revise the construction period and milestones in connection with the distribution of the addendum.
