External Audit Services

Description

The ESM is seeking to tender the services of an external audit firm for a term of three (3) years, renewable once, in accordance with the provisions of the ESM Treaty (Article 29) and the ESM By-Laws (Articles 21 (3), 22, 23 and 24(4)). Lot 1: The Treaty establishing the European Stability Mechanism requires that the accounts of the ESM shall be audited by independent external auditors appointed by the Board of Governors. A new service provider is therefore needed to perform the audit of the 2023, 2024 and 2025 financial statements. In line with Article 22 (1) of the ESM By-Laws, the engagement shall be for a term of three years with the option to extend it for a second term of three years at the sole discretion of the ESM. There shall be a mandatory rotation of the ESM external auditors every six years. The appointment of the new external auditor will take place in June 2023 during the meeting of the Board of Governors.
