NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit on behalf of NHS England and NHS Improvement – Midlands, and Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Groups under fully delegated commissioning arrangements invited suitably qualified and experienced providers to deliver primary care medical services for: Lot 1 Southglade Medical Practice, Lot 2 Kirkby Community Primary Care Centre, Lot 3 Balderton Primary Care Centre, Lot 4 Platform One Practice, and Lot 5 Broad Oak Medical Practice. The new contracts, Lots 1 - 3 (one per lot) are to run for a period of 10 years with an option to extend to a further 5 years (maximum total contract duration 15 years). Lot 5 will run for a period of 4 years and 6 months. Southglade Medical Practice is part of the Bulwell and Top Valley Primary Care Network. The practice has 3 200 registered patients as of October 2019; the list size has steadily grown over a period of 18 months and an extension to the practice boundary area was approved in October 2018. The immediate area where the practice is situated has higher incidences of deprivation and child poverty than the England average. Kirkby Community Primary Care Centre is situated in Ashfield Health Village in Kirkby-in-Ashfield and covers the patient population of Kirkby-in-Ashfield. The practice is part of the Ashfield South Primary Care Network. The practice has 6 500 patients as of October 2019. The immediate area where the practice is situated has higher incidences of deprivation and child poverty than the England average. Balderton Primary Care Centre is located on the outskirts of Newark on Trent, Nottinghamshire (NG24) and serves patients across the Balderton area of Newark as well as covering the villages of Coddington, Barnby in Willows and Claypole. The practice is part of the Newark Primary Care Network. The practice has 5 900 patients as of October 2019. The area immediately surrounding the practice has an income deprivation which is slightly better than the England average. Incidences of child deprivations are similar to that of the England average. Platform One Practice is located in Nottingham City Centre. The practice provides care to all patients of Nottingham City and the boundary reflects the borders of the Nottingham City CCG area. The practice is part of the Nottingham City East Primary Care Network. The practice has 10,800 patients as of October 2019. The income deprivation and incidences of children living in poverty for the Nottingham City area is significantly worse than the England averages. The practice premises are owned by the current GP provider and these will not be made available for potential bidders to utilise. Therefore, an interested party will be expected to source and provide premises from which the service can be run. The premises are required to be within a 0.5-mile radius of Nottingham City Centre (the centre point being Old Market Square). As a guide a map of the area is provided in supporting information 4: ‘SI 4 Practice Profile - Platform One Practice and an extended mobilisation period has been planned to reflect this. The practice premises are owned by the current GP provider and these will not be made available for potential bidders to utilise. Therefore, an interested party will be expected to source and provide premises from which the service can be run. The premises are required to be within a 0.5-mile radius of Nottingham City Centre (the centre point being Old Market Square). Broad Oak Medical Practice is part of the BACHS Primary Care Network which covers Aspley, Beechdale, Bilborough, Broxstowe, Cindercill and Strelley areas. The practice has 4 770 registered patients as of October 2019; the list size has grown rapidly in recent months following the closure of a nearby practice. Prior to this closure the practice list was fairly stable. The practice was previously associated with another CQC registration and received a ‘Requires Improvement’ rating in October 2019.
