Description
St. Augustine’s Church and the surrounding graveyard is in the ownership of the Representative Church Body of the Church of Ireland (see appendix A). It is a local landmark of some importance and the Church Ruin is in a prominent and key site within the Village of Ballyeaston and requires sensitive treatment to further conserve it. The Church Ruin is constructed in stonework and pointed in lime mortar. The coping mortar on top of the walls is a cement/lime mix. The works proposed constructing a replacement pitched roof (slate) on the Church Tower, partial restoration of the window reveals (using granite stone pieces already on site) and re-building of a small section of wall (stone to be imported to site)
