Monaghan County Council would like to procure dog pound services to ensure the secure accommodation, care, control, and processing of seized, stray, and unwanted dogs. These services ensure compliance with the Control of Dogs Act and safeguard animal welfare and public safety. Areas of responsibility will fall under the following categories: • Facility - Secure, clean kennels; adequate capacity; safe environment • Dog Care – Daily feeding, exercise, cleaning, welfare monitoring • Dog Health Services - Treatment, vaccinations, microchipping, humane euthanasia (when necessary at 3rd party Veterinary Practice) • Public Interface - Managing dog reclaims and rehoming; communication • Legal Compliance - Record keeping, adherence to dog control laws • Coordination - Work closely with dog wardens and council staff
