Description

Trinity College Dublin request the supply of a Microfluidic Flow-Based Platelet Platform. The purpose of the instrument is to mimic a blood vessel ex vivo to visualise and quantify cell adhesion, rolling, migration, cell-cell adhesion, platelet aggregation, thrombi formation - all under precisely controlled shear flow rates and compatible with whole blood and isolated cell preparation samples. The system will consist of a microfluidic pump with multi flow capacity which connects to disposable biochips, where the shear flow of samples can be adjusted by perfusion. The system will also incorporate a microenvironmental chamber/stage to heat disposable biochips, inverted microscope and camera to image/view areas of biochip for image acquisition and downstream image analysis software. All of these components integrate to form a Microfluidic Flow-based Platelet Platform.
