Description
DTU planlægger at købe en LIFDI (liquid injection field desorption ionization) til installation på et Thermo Fisher Orbitrap Exploris 120 massespektrometer. Udover FDI (en ekstrem blød ioniseringsteknik) tillader LIFDI direkte injektion af prøven ind på wolfram emitteren. Injektionen foregår komplet inert uden behov for tilkobling af handskeboks. Tillige, tillader denne teknologi, at der kan skiftes ”on-demand” mellem ioniseringskilder uden punktering af vakuum. Dette er kun muligt på Thermo Fishers Orbitrap instrument-serie, hvor tilkoblingen af LIFDI er optimal. LIFDI-kilden gør det muligt at analysere kortlivede- og labile forbindelser der under alle andre ioniseringsbetingelser undergår dekomposition. Linden ChroMasSpec GmbH er den eneste kommercielle aktør på markedet der udbyder denne teknologi og DTU agter derfor at indgå en aftale med dem.
