Road markings

Bymiljøetaten [the Department of Urban Development] is the municipality's professional body in relation to roads, road traffic and public transport on roads. The contracting authority is responsible for the municipal road network, including the standardised county road network. As the road administrator, the Department of Urban Development is responsible for follow-up of the requirements for measures against noise and air pollution from roads. Stated in the Pollution Control Act. The contracting authority is also responsible for long-term public transport planning, traffic and street plans, traffic safety measures and plans for practicable public transport traffic measures. An important part of this administrative responsibility is related to the procurement of services for the operation and maintenance of the road network in order to ensure good conditions for all road users. The procurement must cover the need for maintenance marking and new road marking of streets, pavements, foot and cycle paths and parking spaces, as well as all related necessary preliminary works. Road marking is an important part of the road system. The intention is to inform, advise, manage and control the road users of the road and traffic system. Good and correctly executed marking is a pre-requisite for safe and efficient restriction of the road traffic. This procurement comprises, maintenance of marking and new marking of the municipal roads that the Agency for Urban Environment is responsible for in Oslo. The work consists of maintenance of the existing markings and will also include new marking in connection with asphalt works, redevelopments and new parking spaces. Marking/remarking of surfaces with coloured material is included. More detailed scope of work is set out in the attached cost basis and requirement specification. Please note that the specified quantities are estimated for 1 year, but the quantity of orders that arise will depend on demand and allocated funds.
