LA2505C-IMR- RFT for the Supply of a Wire Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM)

Description

Irish Manufacturing Research, request the supply of a Wire Discharge Machine (EDM) for the removal of components from metal additive manufacturing systems, along with the required accessories and equipment to enable the safe and efficient operation of said machine. This is required to support ongoing and future project work within IMR Design and Manufacturing team. The principal purpose of the system is to support the rapid and accurate removal of Additively Manufactured metal components from their build plate, connected both solidly and by support structure geometries. The instrument must have demonstrated and specialised capability in the removal of Metal Additive Manufactured components, in particular overcoming the challenges associated with intermittent cuts and loose powder. The system must also demonstrate capabilities in live monitoring and have capability in sharing process data to support data analytics.
