The studies will survey and analyse progress on the digital transformation of the health and care in the EU, particularly with regard to citizens’ access to their electronic health records (EHR). It will provide an overview of the current situation in the EU member states with regard to the development of interoperable EHR systems and enabling technological solutions such as electronic identification, distributed ledger and cybersecurity. The results of the study will support and inform the ongoing work of the EU and member states on the interoperability of EHR systems, in particular with regard to the development of the European EHR exchange format.
