Description
Waterways Ireland (the Contracting Authority) intends to upgrade the public areas adjacent to the Grand Canal between Leeson Street Bridge and Lock C4 on the Norther boundary. Waterways Ireland are seeking submissions from suitably experienced contractors in the area of Landscaping works to deliver the project. The works will involve some site clearance, removal of footpaths, laying a new footpath, installation of amenities, and substantial planting. The Works will be adjacent to a live water course. General description of the works includes, but is not limited to: • Removal of existing footpath and paving slabs • Installation of new self binding gravel footpath • Extensive Planting • Regrading • Paving • Installation of benches and amenities • Provision of an electrical outlet at Locks C4 • Pedestrian Management throughout construction • The works include the duties of main contractor and PSCS The particular Works are in an area of significant ecological importance. Care will be required when working around habitats, riparian strips, and other environmental considerations when working on and near waterways. The Contracting Authority is following the Restricted Procedure for this competition. Further details of the competition and works to be completed are set out in the enclosed Suitability Assessment Questionnaire.
