Titan Crane Repairs & Maintenance

West Dunbartonshire Council require essential maintenance and repairs to the Titan Crane in Clydebank. The Titan Crane, is a Grade A listed building located within the Queens Quay Development site, Clydebank. The crane is subject to 6 monthly visual inspections and reports to monitor the degradation in various areas prior to the full re-coating programme. These reports list items on a traffic light system, identifying the essential Works that are required to be carried out before the full re-coating programme. The proposed works are isolated repairs, on all sections of the crane shaft and jib, and comprise replacement of metalwork components, rust treatment and re-painting, repairs/sealant work around the lift shaft, replacement of electrical items and the like. The crane is circa 50m high, and the toe of the jib is over water. Access for the works shall be by rope only, ie it is not anticipated a scaffold of the structure shall be required for these repairs. The Contractor must therefore: - be suitably qualified - be able to demonstrate experience of similar projects/ repairs - have experience of submitting all necessary Health and Safety RAMS To prevent further degradation, the Works are expected to take place over the months of july-september 2020 . The Contractor must therefore be able to confirm his ability to survey and price the works, prepare the appropriate method statements and the like to enable a July commencement.
