Supply of industrial gases, liquid gases and specialty gas mixtures and related services

Description

The Joint Research Centre at Ispra and Petten sites runs several laboratory and technical facilities. Some of these facilities need to use industrial gases, liquid gases and specialty gas mixtures at different pressures and flow rates, for scientific or technical activities. The subject of this procurement procedure therefore includes the supply of industrial gases, pure gases, liquid gases and gas mixtures. It also includes the distribution of gases to users by means of a service provided by the contractor. The facilities in JRC-Ispra and JRC-Petten have extensive gas tube/pipe networks (with dimensions in imperial and metric units) including (automated) controls and auxiliary devices (i.e., suction huts, vent and exhaust pipes, etc.) and use various technical gases at different pressures and flow rates; some of these gases are categorised as harmful (asphyxiate, toxic and/or flammable) and liquid gases. The type of gases already used include standard gases: argon, zero air, helium, hydrogen, nitrogen, etc., special mixtures of different gases in various concentrations (ranging from several VPPM up to several vol%), and liquid gases as liquid nitrogen and helium, and which are the subject of the current call. The types of gases are divided into 3 categories: — industrial, pure and technical gases in cylinders and packs and correlated services, — liquid gases (nitrogen and helium) and correlated services, — certified gas mixtures in cylinders and packs and correlated services.
