Description

The Marine Institute requires the provision of pop-off satellite tags for external attachment to large-bodied marine fish. The tag should record temp, pressure, and light to enable modelled reconstruction of movement tracks. Data should be transmitted to Argo satellite system when the tag detaches. The battery should enable recording of data for an extended period of time. The pop-off mechanism should be safe and reliable and there should be a method for close quarter location of detached tags that may be stranded. Data retrieval, modelling of data to reconstruct tracks, and the service level provided in relation to track reconstruction should be described. The reliability of the tag systems should be evidenced through details of successful application in previous projects as shown in published per reviewed papers. Detailed goods requirement description is available in the attached documents.
