Description
The European Parliament has a family room in Strasbourg named 'Les cigognes' for the children, aged from 3 months to 6 years, of staff on mission in Strasbourg during parliamentary sessions. The family room is open from 13.30 to 20.00 on Mondays and from 8.00 to 20.00 from Tuesday to Thursday. The family room currently has capacity for 25 children: a planned expansion will increase this capacity by 30 % over the next 2 years. To ensure continuity of service, the European Parliament is intending to enter into several direct service contracts within the fields of early years childcare and catering. During the opening times of the family room, the contractor must provide 'early years' childcare services, including (but not limited to): — implementing all measures necessary in the family room to ensure the psychomotor, emotional and social development of the children in his care, while promoting awareness and intellectual development and taking into consideration the multicultural and multilingual environment of the European Parliament, — ensuring the health and safety of the children, providing the parent(s) with regular, systematic updates on their child's/children's development, and endeavouring to maintain trusting relationships with the parents. Daily duration of service provision: 8 hours (32 hours over the course of the session). During the opening times of the family room, the contractor must provide catering, laundry and hygiene services, including (but not limited to): — ensuring a healthy diet suitable for the children being looked after in order to give them all the nutrients necessary for their development, — supplying all products and foodstuffs necessary for preparing 'normal' and 'special' meals tailored to infant nutrition criteria, according to the quantity and quality ordered by the European Parliament, — taking all the hygiene measures applicable in such an environment, preventing the spread of germs. Daily duration of service provision: 8 hours (so 32 hours over the course of the session).
