Description

The procurement of services/support from voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VCSE) providers in Sheffield as part of the Primary & Community Mental Health Transformation Programme (PCMHTP). Sheffield is one of twelve national early implementer sites for the NHS England (NHSE) Community Framework for Mental Health for Adults and Older Adults. Sheffield is leading on the development, testing and evaluation of a new and radical transformation over how community mental health is provided. Part of the early implementer work includes commissioning services/support from VCSE providers who provide their services within the footprints of the 4 primary care networks (PCNs) that constitute the initial test work in Sheffield. A sum of £325,000 is allocated to support VCSE development, specifically for the PCMHTP. This represents the total funding available over a 2 year period. Limitations and boundaries of the funding are stipulated by NHSE that funds can only be used within the 4 PCN test areas and that funding can only be spent on serious mental illness support, opposed to generic services.
