Description

The works comprise the construction of three sets of fixed timber moorings for the purpose of both long term and transient mooring of boats at Lowtown. Facilities provided will include the construction of fixed timber jetties with lighting, a clean water supply and electricity supply. A new reinforced concrete canal overflow and associated works will be constructed at Derrymullan.The main elements of the work are as follows;(1) 170m fixed timber moorings for long term moorings on the Grand Canal main line.(2) 80m fixed timber moorings for transient moorings on the Grand Canal main line.(3) 100m fixed timber moorings for transient moorings on the Old Barrow line.(4) Installation of water and electrical services from the existing service block to the new service bollards on the moorings.(5) Supply and installation of service bollards, to include connection to water and electrical supply.(6) Construction of formalised car parking area.(7) Constructuion of a canal overflow structure at Derrymullan.(8) Landscaping of areas in the locality of the new moorings, car parking area and canal overflow.The full scope of the Works and the obligations of the Contract are to be fully ascertained by reference to the Contract as a whole. All works shall be conducted in strict compliance with all relevant environmental requirements.
