Description
Kent County Council (the Authority) wishes to engage with suppliers regarding capacity in the market to provide future collection and processing services for Textiles and Shoes across all 19 Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRCs) across Kent. A new contract is required to be in place for commencement on 18th December 2024 to ensure service continuity, whereby KCC take title of all material to meet the statutory obligations of the Waste Disposal Authority. The Concessions Contract will involve the collection, sorting, storage, transporting, processing, recycling reuse, recovery and resale of all Textiles obtained from all 19 of KCC’s HWRCs. Organisations which ‘Register an interest’ in this opportunity will be invited to complete a ‘Market Engagement Questionnaire’, which will be immediately accessible via the Kent Business Portal (https://www.kentbusinessportal.org.uk/). Responses to this questionnaire will be used to inform the Authority’s strategy for commissioning these services; the Authority may contact organisations directly to discuss/clarify their response to this questionnaire where necessary.
