People fleeing Ukraine are being facilitated to enter Ireland under special exceptional measures provided for under Article 32 of EU Regulation 576/2013 with their pets, regardless of whether the pets have the appropriate certified health requirements. These measures only apply to accompanied pets from Ukraine. People travelling with pets are asked to email the point of entry they will be arriving to in advance. The Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine (DAFM) may wish to isolate some animals for a period following arrival into Ireland. DAFM seeks tenders from suitable persons who have the capacity to provide a boarding facility for these animals. In the vast majority of cases the animals will be cats and dogs.
