Mechanical Works (Heating Upgrade Works) at Mountmellick Community School

Description

This project entails works to the existing heating centre in the boilerhouse in the school building, as well as radiators and heating distribution pipework throughout the building . Refer to the drawings for further information on the works to be carried out. The scope of the works will be as follows: • Decommissioning, stripping out and removal from site of 1no. existing oil-fired boiler, pump, controls associated with the oil boiler, oil supply line pipework, etc.) in the existing boilerhouse. • Decommission, stripping out and removal from site of the existing oil storage tank and oil supply line to the boiler house. • Supply and installation of 1no. new stainless steel condensing gas fired boiler, gas slamshut valves, gas detection system, gas pipework, pumps, controls, plant room pipework, etc.) in the boilerhouse. Mechanical contractor shall install a Groundfos magna 3 primary pump. • Supply and installation of a number of new radiators throughout the building. These shall be connected into the existing heating pipework in the area local to the radiators. • Supply and installation of a number of new 2-port valves and associated isolation valves and thermostats throughout the building as indicated on the drawings. • Supply and installation of 300mm Fibre Glass insulation above the ceiling in some areas as indicated on the layout drawings. • Stripping out of unit heaters and associated materials in the Gymnasium/Concert Hall Area. • Filling in and making good existing louvres in Gymnasium/Concert Hall Ceiling. • Removal and replacement of 2 No. De-stratification Fans in the Gymnasium/Concert Hall Area. • All associated electrical works for the project. New gas fired boiler shall be wired and controlled from the existing MCC panel within existing boiler house. • Mechanical contractor to allow for the installation of a new Booster pump set within existing boiler house as per the drawings.
