HEIW Provision of Ultrasound Education and Training Services

Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) are undertaking a review of Health Professional Education and Training Services delivered to NHS Wales. HEIW have sought to procure Ultrasound Education and Training to address the increased demand for ultrasound education in Wales, with a national shortage of NHS sonographers. Lot 1: HEIW has sought to commission a part-time Blended learning for; Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits) over 2 years, which is accredited by Consortium for the Accreditation of Sonographic Education, (CASE), and Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert) Ultrasound, 1 year, part time (60 credits) to increase and enhance provision of sonography education in Wales to support the rising service demand. The procurement will provide education to address the increased demand for ultrasound education in Wales, with a national shortage of NHS sonographers. Additional information: Contract Commencement(Effective Date):2nd January 2025. Implementation Period: 15th November 2024 to 7th January 2025 Services Commencement Period: 8th January 2025 to 7th January 2028 and will continue until the expiry of the contract unless extended under the provisions of the Contract being, option to extend for 2 years in two 12-month intervals
