Description

Remediation works at The Golden Wharf, Lyness, Hoy, Orkney to recover Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (LNAPL) contaminants from the site. The Authority has a requirement for land remediation works to at the Golden Wharf, Lyness, Hoy to allow future development of the site. The works, part of a remediation strategy, include the advancement of groundwater recovery wells and the recovery of Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (LNAPL) contaminants through the installation and operation of low tide skimmer pumps. The works also include the production of an O&M plan for the contaminant recovery, transmissivity testing and groundwater monitoring, regulatory liaison and the production of a Validation Report as well as the decommissioning of the LNAPL recovery system once complete.
