Description
Leicester City Council is looking for a a qualified supplier to support our scheduled programme of cleaning highway drainage across the city (referred to as ‘gully cleaning’). The Council’s gully cleaning operation involves emptying out all gullies on the network of adopted highway in the city of Leicester. A ‘risk-based’ programme has been developed, which prioritises gullies shown to be at high risk from surface water flooding to be cleaned every year, along with gullies on main arterial routes and within non-residential areas. On all other roads, gullies are to be cleaned on a two-yearly cycle. The Supplier will work alongside the Council’s internal contractor (‘City Highways’) in delivery of the gully cleaning programme, with the responsibilities of the Supplier and City Highways clearly defined within the programme.
