Specialist Support for Lone Parents on Income Support and Other Non-JSA Claimant
Published
Description
The Jobcentre Plus District of Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire intends to use FSF to fund this Specialist Support provision which will support appropriate unemployed claimants, from Day 1 of their claim. Appropriate claimants will be those whom JCP anticipate may, as a result of Benefits Capping regulations, receive less housing benefit and who may consequently need to seek alternative, more affordable accommodation. See paragraphs 4.1 to 4.5 for more information about the claimant group. The provision is intended to help eligible claimants in the District of Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire return to work at the earliest opportunity, by providing back to work support in the form of face-to-face appointments, group sessions and workshops. This is aimed to help them obtain employment, keep their higher housing benefit payments, and remain in their current accommodation.
